A few months ago, I started flirting with the idea of reels. I’d heard marketers talk about how effective they were for sales, but I didn’t believe them. One day, I decided to post reels every day for a month, and the results were stunning.

This is going to be the most simple breakdown you’ve (hopefully) ever seen.

Step 01: FILM CONTENT

Get into a studio, outside, or set up a corner of your home to film some simple video content. Ideally, near a window or with a nice amount of light.

Step 02: SELECT TEN SECONDS OF A CLIP

That’s it? Yep! That’s it!

Step 03: USE TRENDING AUDIO, SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 5K - 10K PLAYS

You can find this easily in your IG Professional dashboard → scroll to the bottom → Tips and Resources → Trending Audio

Step 04: USE A CONTENT HOOK ON THE VIDEO

This is what pulls people in: the content hook! Below, you’ll find a table you can use as inspiration, but the idea is that your hook leaves them wanting more, and that “more” is in your caption. The longer someone reads your caption, the more your reel plays in the background, leaving the algorithm feeling happy (and your content more prevalent!)
