Welcome to the content that changed everything for my Instagram account. By total accident, I stumbled upon a formula that brought followers to my account in waves. Below, I’m going to show you exactly how I do it. Let’s get started!
First, A Couple Of Notes
People tend to think that viral content happens overnight. Sometimes it does! And sometimes, it’s a slow build as people start to understand that you’re a person who shares content worth reading. There’s also something to be said about consistency. The more you continue to post easy-to-read, relatable content in a specific field, the more traction and trust you get. When I first posted about the horoscopes, I had a few bits of inspirational courses that did well, but nothing prepared for me for the reach those horoscopes got! Below, we’re going to break down why those went, and continue to, go so viral. You are going to have your own version of content that strikes a chord in people’s hearts. Use everything below as a template to start from, and then embark out into the unknown to start sharing your gifts!
What You’ll Need:
- A Canva Account: You can download a free account in Canva - an easy-to-use graphic design platform. I’ll attach the carousel post links I use below for you to plug and play with your own content.
- A Few Colors (And Images If You Choose): Having a color palette that you’re constantly working with makes your work recognizable from the very beginning. Less is more here. This means that if you are going to add images, either place a large square overtop of it to mute the image, or use a simple solid colored square.
- Readable Fonts: One of the biggest mistakes I see people making when designing content is that they’ll use a cool font, but the font itself is quite hard to read on a phone or tablet. Choosing a more minimal and basic font might seem boring, but it gives your potential clients the opportunity to absorb your wisdom easily! Notice the graphics below: the second is much harder to read than the first, and it is also a lot of information for someone to digest at once. That second post probably would have done better broken into a carousel, with larger and more easily viewable font.

- An Offering or Freebie For Your Potential Clients: We’ll talk about this more in the How To Launch An Offering module but something I’ve found helpful is to have an offering that you can point people towards. The first step is that visitors relate to your content, the next is that they follow you for more, and the third is that they explore how they can get more of you and your wisdom!
Before We Start:
Let’s Get Everything Speaking Your Content’s Language
- After people see your post, chances are they’re going to make their way to your profile. Upload a profile photo that represents you well and your business. You don’t need to have it be professionally taken, but stay away from heavy filters or fuzzy images.
- Make sure you have an Instagram Business account set up. This will give you the opportunity to track your insights. Tracking your insights means seeing how many followers you’re gaining, which posts are performing the best, and where most of your followers are from.
- If you’re starting a new Instagram page, then you won’t have any prior insights, but if you’ve been running your business for a while, then take a look at your insights and what has performed the best so far. This can give you an idea as to what kind of content you could be creating to really speak to the heart of your audience.
What Are The Repeating Patterns With Viral Content?
2020 is the year that my content started to skyrocket (this was also the start of my full moon progressed moon phase 🤓 If anyone wants to go on small detour, I recommend using this website to enter in your birth date, then I’d check out this page for some info on what that means!). It was the year I started to make more “content” and not just self-portraits or photography. I started the astrology astro-poetry posts in response to the pandemic. I figured people wanted to know what was happening in the sky during a period so many of us were feeling a bit lost. What I wasn’t expecting was how well they would do!
