The art of the sales funnel is as follows:
- Instagram (top of the funnel) → Freebie offer (Lead Magnet) → Email list collected → Added to email list → Email nurturing sequence → Sales offers for larger programs / 1:1s → Close a sale, get an aligned client!
- If your running ads, you’d replace Instagram, and then begin the funnel.
- If you have a service-based business, you can occasionally bypass the IG and Freebie by running ads straight to your website and having interested prospects fill out a contact form. (I did this for years as a maternity photographer and the results were fantastic)
1. Get Clear On What You’re Creating: Workbook
If you don’t know what you want to offer, or you want to get laser focused, start here. The more clear you are on what you’re offering, the more clear your potential clients are. Your messaging becomes clearer, sales funnel is clearer, etc.
The top money-making categories are Wealth, Love, and Health. If you have a niche somewhere within those categories, you are 100% solving a problem for someone. Why? Because all of us, at some point in our lives, can identify with challenging periods in relation to one of those topics.

2. Create a Freebie That Attracts Clients To Your Email List
- A freebie is what people can download for free. They give you permission to contact them via email, and you give them something worthwhile, interesting, and informative. Keep in mind that while a freebie should be very giving in terms of your knowledge, it doesn’t need to be complicated or long. A freebie should link to your main paid offering, so make sure that your freebie is relevant to what you’re ultimately trying to sell. When someone downloads your freebie, takes your webinar, or your free class, save those emails by creating a segment in Flodesk so you know who they are and what they’re interested in.
